One step closer
Arrived at Chongqing this evening. The Air Hostess on the plane from Hong Kong were very helpful in translating the hotel (Marriot) address into Chinese script (getting past the fact that they seemed bemused by the Western script). This was useful when the only taxi (unmetered)waiting outside the airport was owned by a nice chap who spoke no English. There were metered taxis, but they all seemed to be taken up in the city centre of 30 million ferrying people about. Seemed a decent chap and I don't think he over charged us at RMB120. We haven't yet explored anywhere as its now 11pm. The fast! internet connection in the room is not fast or reliable so how many postings we'll do and photos remains to be seen. So we're here..tired. We have been told that we will meet Anna-li on Monday afternoon. Thankyou to those who have written comments, its nice to hear of your support. AND happy birthday Gary's mum.
